Wimbledon School of English is a leading language school offering interactive English courses taught by a select group of international teachers and language experts. Founded in 1964 in the village of Wimbledon by Marjorie Housden, the school initially focused on teaching English to students living and working in Britain. By the early 1970s, its academic success necessitated a larger and more prestigious building. In 1979, the school became a Cambridge examination center. It gained British Council accreditation in 1984 and established an international "English Language Exam Centre" in 2010.
